Flow Archive: Material Ecologies from Post-Industrial Jinguashi
Flow Archive is a practice-led research project that begins with embodied perception and encounters with geological materials. It focuses on Jinguashi, a post-industrial mining town in northeastern Taiwan shaped by large-scale mining, landscape transformation, and human withdrawal.
Through walking along rivers, roads, and former mining paths, I observe weathered rock formations, heavy-metal deposits, and traces of environmental disturbance. Geological fragments collected from the landscape—including iron-rich rock, mining residues, ochre earth, and mineral fragments—become materials for ceramic and site-responsive experiments, opening a dialogue between human activity, geology, and ecology.
The project treats these materials as fragments of history and memory. Through ceramics, walking notes, material archives, and sound and visual documentation, Flow Archive reconstructs multiple narratives between soil, landscape, ecology, and craft.
Rather than seeking to resolve the environmental histories of Jinguashi, the project attends to the processes that remain in motion. Although mining has ceased, the landscape continues to transform through erosion, sedimentation, and the movement of matter. Flow Archive explores these ongoing processes as a way of reconsidering our relationships with land, memory, and coexistence.

Flow Archive: Material Ecologies from Post-Industrial Jinguashi
一段以身體感知為起點、以行走與在地材料相遇為基礎的實踐導向創作（practice-led research）。聚焦於台灣東北部山海交界的金瓜石，一座歷經採礦、廢棄與地貌變遷的後工業礦城，承載著地質多樣性、生態傷痕與工業歷史的層層疊影，是人類經濟活動與自然環境交織而成的物質痕跡。
在這裡，河流不只是水體，而是一套記憶系統，是地質創傷與人類經濟活動所交織的動態索引。
沿著金瓜石地區的河岸公路與礦徑行走至海河口的水系，觀察沿途岩層風化、水文痕跡、酸性礦水與重金屬沉澱，並拾取散落於路徑中的地質碎片，鐵紅紋理的落石、一觸即碎的黃土、裂縫中藏有六角晶體的礦岩，作為與地景對話的敘事媒材，這些材料更像是從記憶系統中裂解或提取出來的句子。
透過步行、觀察、採集與放置，作品於地貌與感知的交界中生成，陶瓷創作不再僅是器物製作，而是一種與地景共寫的註腳，一種在腐蝕與沉澱之間生成物質記憶的介面。
在我們亟需重新學習如何與生態纏結共存的時代，這項創作並非試圖尋求解答，而是透過工藝過程、材料與身體與環境之間的對話，去感知那些仍在流動的後工業痕跡，金瓜石特殊的地貌與生態，似乎正以自身的節奏緩緩訴說著一種未曾停止的連鎖反應，即使人為的開採已經終止，自然系統的回應卻從未真正停止，持續透過地貌的轉譯與物質的遞演，參與著歷史的書寫。
